The Mind Garden
Autism Assessment
Understanding the unique ways people think, connect, and experience the world.
At Mind Garden Psychology, we offer comprehensive autism assessments for children (4 years old and above), adolescents, and adults. Our goal is to provide clarity and support through a respectful, neurodiversity-affirming approach—helping individuals and families better understand social communication, thinking styles, sensory experiences, and behavioural patterns.
Whether you're seeking a diagnosis, exploring differences, or looking for support at school, work, or home, we offer a thorough and compassionate process that goes beyond labels to truly understand the person.
What the Assessment Involves?
Our autism assessments are multi-faceted and evidence-based. We use a combination of interviews, standardised tools, and observations to form a complete picture.
The assessment typically includes:
-
Wechsler Intelligence Scale (WISC-V, WAIS-IV, or WPPSI-IV)
Assesses cognitive profile. -
Autism Diagnostic Interview – Revised (ADI-R)
A detailed interview with parents or caregivers focusing on early development and current behaviour.
-
Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2)
A structured, play- and conversation-based assessment used to observe communication, social interaction, and behaviour. -
Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS)
A questionnaire exploring social behaviours, completed by parents, teachers, or the individual. -
Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS-3)
Assesses everyday living skills such as communication, self-care, and social participation.
